How does the credit system work?
Social Neuron's credit system is designed to be simple and transparent. You always know exactly what you're paying for and what you get.
**1 credit = $0.01 (one penny)**. Every AI task has a transparent cost measured in credits. Ideas cost 1 credit each. AI images start at 15 credits. AI videos start at 80 credits. Analysis and research start at 2 credits. Premium models might cost more because they produce higher quality. This means you can calculate exactly what a month of content creation costs.
**Your subscription includes a monthly allowance**. You don't pay per-task by default. Instead, you get a monthly credit budget with your subscription: - Free: 50 credits/month - Starter: 500 credits/month ($19/month, about $0.04 per credit) - Pro: 1,500 credits/month ($49/month, about $0.03 per credit) - Team: 3,500 credits/month ($99/month, about $0.03 per credit) - Agency: 10,000 credits/month ($249/month, about $0.025 per credit)
Your monthly allowance resets on your billing date. You can use your credits however you want — all on videos, all on images, all on ideas, or a mix.
**Spending caps prevent surprise bills**. Your spending cap is 2.5× your monthly allocation. So if you're on Starter (500 credits/month), your spending cap is 1,250 credits. If you hit that cap, your account is paused until the next billing period. This prevents surprise bills if you accidentally generate tons of content.
**Unused credits roll over** (for active subscriptions). If you don't use all 500 Starter credits in July, they carry over to August. This prevents waste and gives you flexibility for busy and slow months.
**Add-on packs when you exceed your cap**. If you hit your spending cap and need more credits, you can purchase add-on packs. The Credit Boost is $9.99 for 250 credits (200 + 50 bonus). The Credit Pack is $9.99 for 550 credits (500 + 50 bonus). The Credit Bundle is $24.99 for 1,700 credits (1,500 + 200 bonus). The Credit Mega is $69.99 for 6,000 credits (5,000 + 1,000 bonus). You control when you buy add-ons.
**Annual billing saves money and gives bonus credits**. If you commit to annual billing, you save 20% compared to monthly. Plus, annual subscriptions include 10% bonus credits. So Starter annually is $182/year (instead of $228 if billed monthly), and you get 550 credits/month instead of 500.
**Why this approach**. Other AI platforms charge per API call, which can lead to surprise bills if you use a lot of content. Social Neuron's approach gives you predictability: you know exactly how much you're spending and how many resources you have each month. It also encourages you to be thoughtful about content creation (you have a budget) while still being generous.
**Transparent pricing means you can plan**. If you know AI images cost 15 credits and you want to create 30 images per month, you need at least 450 credits (30 × 15). Starter gives you 500, so you're covered. This clarity lets you plan your content strategy around a budget.
